TheAudioXchange is a web site dedicated to high-end audio classifieds. The founder is Dragan Zivojinovic, a huge devotee to anything and everything audio and music related.
Well, on that note, lets cut to the chase here. I have been married to Dragan for 23 years and love him dearly, so please keep that in mind when you read this and you hear me call him "names".
The "About" in this case should really read "About My HiFi Fanatic Kook of a Husband". I know him to be a modest guy who does not like talking about himself and after seeing him struggle over what to write in this section, I suggested I do it for him. The terrified look on his face was priceless!
From an early age, he could not wait to get his little paws on a radio or a cassette player (not to say he is old, but yes, cassette decks and receivers were a thing back then) and take it apart to see what is inside. When he got a little older, his poor parents had to endure the torture and help him buy turntables, arms, preamps, amps, tuners and other things no one but him knew how to pronounce. Once he started earning his own money is when the fun began!
When we got married, he perfected his sweet-talking abilities and used every excuse in the book why he should pay for an Oracle turntable more than I could possibly even begin to understand. Every possible excuse ....... One of my personal favorites has to be (and there is also a pouty face that goes with this statement): “But you don’t understand, I HAVE to buy it, I just found it, if I don’t get it NOW, I will NEVER be able to find it again, EVER!!” Yep, a grown man, with a good head on his shoulders and otherwise good common sense, actually utters those words.
I cannot even begin to remember how many times he made me help him lift some enormous monstrosity of a speaker so he can stick pennies under the spikes, had me help move his Avantgarde Duos one millimeter at a time until they were positioned just right and reached “the sweet spot”, blow-dry his Quads (I swear I’m not making this up) to shrink and stretch out the dust cover or dragged me by the hair, with me kicking and screaming, to another hi-fi show. All of this is my husband's idea of us spending quality time together. What can I say? I love the man very much (or I’m not too bright, one of the two?!)
And just when I thought I have seen and heard it all, one morning, just out of bed, I walk in and see my husband with bed-hair sticking every which way, wrinkles from the pillow still on his face, wearing nothing but his boxer shorts, socks and a pair of white cotton gloves (the ones I use to moisturize my hands overnight), lovingly attending to his hi-fi system. I managed, with a great degree of difficulty, to hold back, not laugh at this comical scene and calmly ask him what he was doing. “These gloves are great, you have to get me some!” he replied, with a kid-in-a-candy-store look on his face.
In a nutshell, that is who is behind this web site.
