Hello to you all.
I am an individual; i.e. not a retailer. Since moving to a small house and reaching an age when disposal of personal items is appropriate, I am looking for an effective way of selling my audio system. It is fairly high end- McIntosh, Luxman and Vanderstein. So, I am wondering what the experiences of others has been selling components on this website? I do not mean the Forums sections but the "classified ad" section. I did sell my McIntosh MC7300 power amp through Ebay and that has been a horror thanks to Paypal's new policy of not releasing funds paid by the buyer for at least three weeks, if then. I am not a scammer and I do not mispresent items. Paypal has treated me like a criminal and I am offended by that. So, what has been your experiences with this site? Are the buyers you have delt with cridible audiophiles? Do they pay? Do they try to pull a fast one? Do you have to explain every detail like what a pre-amp is and why a pre-amp or system controll component will protect their speakers from damage? Has this website been troubled by trolls and other undesirables? Sorry, if this started out with a negative tone- needs adjustment:-). All comments are welcome, even wisecracks and "you-should-have-known-better." Last edited by John1951; 07-06-2010 at 05:39 PM. |

Apparently, the answer to my question is "no". No replies is not a good sign.
So, I will continue on Ebay and wish you all the best of luck and good listening. |

John, hope you are wrong,as I have just signed up for AX. Never had any real problems with Ebay or Audiogon which at this point is my favorite. Did not know of such a change in the Ebay payment policy.
